Haunting stories have always sparked our curiosity. These have been told since centuries and passed down generations. These paranormal stories have not only frightened people but have made them go hysterical when it comes to encountering some strange event.
1. Tu-Po Ghost Story
Tu-Po was a ghost who always had revenge on his mind. He lived from 827-783 BC and was a minister in Chinese Emperor Hsuan’s Government. He was killed by the Emperor but not before he warned the King that he will haunt the king.
Interestingly, soon after Husan fell prey to an arrow fired by a man who resembled Tu-Po and it was believed that Tu-Po was the killer.
2. The Tower of London
The numerous castles in London are a source of various haunting stories. One of these is Tower of London which is a 900 year old castle. The Queen’s House here is considered to be the most haunted. It is said that the ghost of Arabella Stuart who was the cousin of King James I lives here.
Arabella made the mistake of marrying against the King’s wishes and was sentenced to serve a prison term in this castle. It is believed that Arabella is still serving her prison term in this castle.
3. Aokigaraha Woods
This forested patch is located at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan. Aokigaraha Wood is known as a suicide point as numerous corpses have been found here during last two decades. People rarely venture into this forest as many believe that ghosts of people who have died here have been seen in this forest.
4. Brown Lady of Raynham Hall
A photographer capturing the beauty of Raynham Hall in 1936 accidentally caught an image of lady floating in the air. This is believed to be the most popular ghost picture ever to be clicked. Many however believe that this was caused by double exposure of camera film rather than being a ghost image.
However, as highlighted in a BBC documentary, the ghost could be of Lady Dorothy Townshend who died in 1726 in this castle. She is said to wander in this castle now.
5. The Amityville
This is perhaps most haunting story that America has ever witnessed. One Ronald Defeo Junior was convicted for killing his parents and children in 1974 in Amityville in New York. Later, the Lutzes family moved into this villa as they purchased it at an discounted price.
However, the family could not live here long enough as their daughter witnessed numerous paranormal activities in the house. Paranormal activity experts too witnessed such experience later in the house. A book was also written on this villa and numerous Hollywood movies have been made on this theme.
